Kylie Minogue and her creative director William Baker have collaborated on a new coffee table book Kylie Fashion which is due for release early November. The book will showcase Kylie’s 25 year career through fashion and also celebrate her ground-breaking collaborations with many of the world’s greatest fashion designers – names such as Balenciaga, Pucci, John Galliano, Manolo Blahnik, Vivienne Westwood, Dolce & Gabbana, Jean Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld, Yves Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney, and many others. The book draws on Kylie’s personal archives and showcases Kylie at all her key fashion moments: geisha/manga super-heroine in her ‘Impossible Princess’ era; ingénue in gold hot pants for ‘Light Years’; and Grecian winged messenger for ‘Aphrodite’. Curated by William Baker, and introduced by Jean Paul Gaultier, the book will also feature specially written texts by the most important designers and stylists Kylie has worked with during her career. It also features additional commentary and an afterword written by Kylie herself. This is what Kylie had to say about the book:
‘This book charts my relationship with some of the most talented people in fashion throughout my career. It makes me very proud to see gathered together all the great designers and houses I’ve worked with over the years. Looking through my personal archives has been a real trip down memory lane and it is the fashion that brings back moments and memories of the last twenty-five years. I can’t wait to share this book with the world.’
Kylie Fashion is due to be published 1 November in Australia and also the UK by Thames & Hudson, the renowned publisher of illustrated books. As a special bonus the book is also coming with special Kylie wrapping paper that Kylie has designed herself!
